Code 39 (Code 3 of 9)

The UCC / EAN 128 / Code 128 can encode all ASCII characters (numbers, uppercase letters, lowercase letters, punctuation and control codes).

UPC A / UPC A (+2) / UPC A (+5)

The UPC A (Universal Product Code) is used to encode 11 digits plus the check digit, totaling 12 digits. The first digit identifies the country the next 6 indicate the manufacturer's code and the last 5 is the product ID by the manufacturer.

A 2-or 5-digit add-on can be added after the check digit characterizing the types UPC A (+2) and UPC A (+5) respectively.

The UPC E (Universal Product Code) is used to encode 6 digits plus the check digit, totaling 7 digits. The first digit will always be 0 and in the remainder the zeros must be suppressed. To encode 0783400009 you should only be informed 078349.

A 2-or 5-digit add-on can be added after the check digit characterizing the types UPC A (+2) and UPC A (+5) respectively.

ITF (Interleaved 2 of 5) / Interleaved 2 of 5 (Mod 10)

The ITF is the quickest way to print Numeric barcodes in variable sizes. The ITF barcode must have an equaled length. You can decide the most appropriate size for your need and the application automatically fills in the odd-sized lengths with leading zeros.

A check digit in Module 10 can be added automatically, just select type Interleaved 2 of 5 (Mod 10).

Code 93

Code 93 is able to encode characters; 0-9, A-Z, a-z, space and 6 symbols -.$/+%. Because lowercase characters are not defaults in Code 93, a special control has been inserted to allow them. The results are long barcodes as can be verified above.

Codabar is used for Numerics data and symbols -$:/.+. The ABCD letters are used to start and end the numbers. Usually the beginning and ending are the same letter.

ISSN

The ISSN is the only barcode used in the printing of magazines and newspapers. It has the same structure as the EAN13. It's formed by 15 digits. The first 3 digits identify the country, the next 10, including the digit check, identify the newspaper or magazine and the additional 2 digits are usually used to identify the month.

ISBN / Bookland

Data: Numeric, Size: Fixed, Check Digit: Required.

The ISBN / Bookland are used in the printing of books. It has the same structure as the EAN13. They are formed by 18 digits. The first 3 digits identify the country, the next 10, including the digit check, identify the book and the additional 5 digits are usually used to identify the price.

POSTNET

Data: Numeric, Size: Variable, Check Digit: Optional.

PostNet (Postal Numeric Encoding Technique) is used by post office to identify the postal code. Only numbers are used and any non-numerics characters will be ignored in the final barcode.
